This three-bedroom, stand-alone villa located inside The Garden’s exclusive Merlin Bay Complex offers plenty of amenities (including a private rooftop deck) and is close to the beach, making it one of our favorite villas in Barbados. Barbados offers visitors a tropical getaway like no other thanks to its perfect climate, unique culture and fine beaches that are among the best in the world.

Cool off in privacy in the plunge pool on the villa’s terrace, this space also boasts an alfresco dining table overlooking tropical gardens and the ocean. It also peers over the development’s larger communal swimming pool available for guests staying at Gingerbread. This pool boasts a seven-foot deep end and expansive sun deck complete with lounge chairs and lush tropical greenery. From here, head down a set of stairs leading down to a white, secluded beach for snorkeling and swimming.

The interior of the villa is welcoming with comfortable furnishings and eclectic decor. The charming living room boasts mural wall paintings, a blue plush sofa and chairs and access to the terrace via arched doorways. This room flows into the indoor dining room, and both spaces offer views of the sea. If you’d like to spend an evening in, the kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, but let the cook handle the meal preparation. There’s also a maid/laundress six days a week.

A maximum of six guests are welcome to stay in the home’s three bedrooms—each offers an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning, The master quarters include an alfresco shower and a private deck with sea views; one guest suite boasts views of the water while the remaining room looks out to the garden.

The Gingerbread Villa is a short drive from both the Royal Westmoreland and Sandy Lane Hotel where you’ll discover world-class golfing, as well as tennis courts and spa facilities. The diverse restaurants and shops of Holetown are also close by.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Refundable 95 days

• Cancel up to 95 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 95 days of the trip and the reservation is non-refundable.
