It’s hard to decide what’s more stunning: the sprawling pool that forms the heart of the villa or the sandy beach just in front. Spend your stay lounging on the terrace, watching the waves or dining at the floating pavilion and see if you can make up your mind. The villa has its own tennis court and fitness center, but you can take the golf carts to the resort to explore the shared pools and tennis and fitness facilities, practice your swing on the croquet lawn and putting green and borrow watersports equipment for the beach. A chef, butler and housekeeper are at your service, making feeding—or entertaining—a crowd a snap.

Though the villa’s interiors are open-plan and open-sided, five acres of landscaped grounds ensure privacy. The main pavilion features a great room with a lighter take on the traditional teak paneling, with vaulted ceilings in light wood and soft blue walls that seem to reflect the ocean outside. Contemporary sofas and even a round sectional mingle easily with a classic carved teak dining set thanks to coordinating turquoise cushions. The fully equipped kitchen accommodates everyone with its two islands, including one with a breakfast bar.

Each of the six bedrooms at Lazy Lizard has its own pavilion with an en-suite bathroom, flat-screen TV and DVD player. There are two master suites with king beds and ocean views, and two more bedrooms with king beds. The remaining two bedrooms each have two double beds. Though each bedroom suite is furnished differently, they share the main pavilion’s mix of Asian-inspired silhouettes, modern lines and turquoise accents.

From the villa’s location on Harbour Beach, it’s a 9-minute walk to Jumby Bay Beach and just over a half-mile to Pasture Bay Beach, where you’ll find both sand to stretch out on and the Hawksbill Turtle Project. Lazy Lizard is a 2-minute walk from the Jumby Bay ferry, where you can catch a 7-minute ferry to Antigua proper. From the Antigua side, it’s a 5-minute drive to V.C. Bird International Airport.

Additional rules

• All credit card holders must be aged 25 years and older at check-in.
• There are mandatory airport transfer fees.
• Guests arriving into V. C. Bird International Airport in Antigua can connect to Jumby Bay Island with the Jumby Bay resort ferry. A mandatory $85.00 per adult transfer fee includes a welcome at Antigua’s airport and escort by private car or van to the resort’s private ferry for journey to Jumby Bay. The transfer fee also includes return transfers to Antigua’s airport upon departure. Transfers are $40.00 + applicable taxes round-trip for children ages 2-12 years old and are complimentary for children under 2 years of age.
• Airport transfer fees for Guests arriving via private plane are available upon request. The current fee for Guests arriving via private plane is $150.00 + applicable taxes. This fee is a flat rate charged by the government, and is additional to the transfer fee charged by Jumby Bay.
