The villa’s beachfront living areas feel like your very own luxury resort. As the sun sets, gather under the palapa for a meal at the al-fresco dining table or step inside to unwind around the satellite TV and share photos via Wi-Fi.

Spread out over 6,000 square feet, the interiors of Villa Sofia are spacious and bright. At the heart is an L-shaped great room with living and dining areas that open to the terrace and a kitchen with a breakfast bar. Polished tile floors are cool underfoot, cream-colored furniture is paired with wood accents for a sophisticated look, and two sets of sliding doors flood the space with Riviera Maya sunshine.

Villa Sofia has five bedrooms in its main house—four with king beds and one with two twin beds—and one bedroom in a casita. All six bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and the same refined mix of neutral tones and warm wood accents, and many have private terraces with ocean views. With a king bed, sofa bed and kitchenette, the casita could be used as a honeymoon suite or a retreat for the in-laws.

While you could spend your stay watching the waves crash on the beach in front of the villa or strolling on the sand, it’s well worth leaving this dreamy property to explore the area. Make the 20-minute drive to Tulum to see the unforgettable Mayan ruins, the 50-minute drive to Playa del Carmen for sun and shopping, or the 55-minute drive to Coba for more incredible archaeological sites.
