As the locals might say, it’s ‘claro’ that Casa Clara has all the elements of a perfect Riviera Maya vacation: panoramic ocean views, airy rooms that let in warm Caribbean breezes and a stellar location across from sandy Playacar Beach. Six bedrooms make room for the whole family or a group of friends, and just down the street, the lively Playacar neighborhood boasts Euro-chic restaurants and boutiques.

You could easily spend your entire stay at the casa: chatting on the terrace lounge area, swimming in the private pool, trying local seafood on the charcoal barbecue in the outdoor kitchen or turning out pies from the wood-fired pizza oven, gathering around the al-fresco dining table and watching the stars come out from the rooftop palapa. (If you do want to step outside, though, you can take the provided beach chairs, towels and umbrellas across the street.) The home has modern perks like a home theater, Wi-Fi and air conditioning.

The casa’s simple modern style is clean-lined yet comfortable. Thanks to covered outdoor living areas and a fold-away glass wall, the great room feels almost like it’s outside as well. The living room invites everyone to take a seat on the generous white sectional, while turquoise and cream throw pillows echo the tones of the beach outside. Wicker dining chairs make a textural statement—and can accommodate a crowd with ease. The fully equipped kitchen is equally fresh and modern, with white cabinets, stainless steel appliances and richly veined black and white stone counters.

There are four bedrooms on the ground floor of Casa Clara and two upstairs; each has an en-suite bathroom. Of the downstairs bedrooms, two have two queen beds each and ocean views, one has a king bed and one has a queen bed. Upstairs, one bedroom has a queen bed and ocean views and the other, the master suite, has a king bed and ocean views.

Plan to fly into Cancun International Airport, a 55-minute drive from Casa Clara. Given that nearly every room in the villa overlooks the water, it’s no surprise that Playacar Beach is just a 1-minute walk away. You can also walk to a tennis court, 5 minutes away, or the thriving shops and restaurants of Quinta Avenida, 10 minutes away. Explore a different stretch of sand at Mamita’s Beach Club, just under 2 miles away, play a round at Campo de Golf Puerto Aventura, 14 miles away, or do a bit of spelunking at Cenote Aktun Chen, 29 miles away.
