{"id":7201,"date":"2015-11-03T23:01:10","date_gmt":"2015-11-04T04:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/caribbeanfirstmls.com\/beta\/?p=7201"},"modified":"2019-08-29T12:43:32","modified_gmt":"2019-08-29T16:43:32","slug":"what-are-the-best-places-for-doing-business-in-the-caribbean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/caribbeanfirstmls.com\/beta\/index.php\/2015\/11\/03\/what-are-the-best-places-for-doing-business-in-the-caribbean\/","title":{"rendered":"What are the Best Places for Doing Business in the Caribbean?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"post-12419\" class=\"post-12419 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-invest-in-paradise category-promoting-the-caribbean-real-estate-industry tag-business-report tag-doing-business-in-the-caribbean tag-invest-in-paradise\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>The World Bank has released its 2016 Doing Business report, and there\u2019s a familiar place at the top of the Caribbean region: Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p>The US Caribbean territory is ranked 57th in the world for ease of doing business, ahead of Costa Rica and just behind Mongolia.<\/p>\n<p>Among independent Caribbean countries, Jamaica is the leader, ranked 64th in the world for ease of doing business, followed by St Lucia at 77th, Trinidad and Tobago at 88th in the world and Dominica at 91st in the world.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that the report looks at\u00a0<i>regulations\u00a0<\/i>affecting 11 areas in the life of a business, not the state of the economy.<\/p>\n<p>Puerto Rico\u2019s high rating came in large part to strong ratings in areas including resolving insolvency, getting credit and starting a business.
