    Set high above the Royal Westmoreland Golf Course, Martello House offers views all the way down to the Caribbean Sea. This spacious, private eight-bedroom vacation rental has expansive indoor and outdoor living areas, all amid beautiful gardens on a sprawling property. Its location in St. James parish means guests have easy access to dining, shopping and entertainment in Holetown, as well as classic Barbados attractions like polo matches.<\/p>\n

    Full bookings of this luxury home include the services of a chef and butler, while bookings of at least six bedrooms include cook service. Though Martello House is far from the bustle of beachfront hotels, it has plenty of resort-worthy features, from a curving infinity pool, sunny lounge area and shaded outdoor sitting and dining areas to a second plunge pool on a lower-level terrace. Inside, the villa has a well-appointed fitness room, games room with pool and foosball tables, and a state-of-the-art media room.<\/p>\n

    The wide veranda, which follows the shape of the infinity pool, makes for a seamless transition between the outdoor and indoor living areas at Martello House. Not only do cool marble floors, high ceilings and an open living room invite the warm breeze inside, but cream-colored sofas and dark-wood furnishings are high-contrast hallmarks of Caribbean style. A formal dining room is ideal for marking special occasions with friends and family, and a fully equipped kitchen plus two kitchenettes are a gourmet\u2019s dream.<\/p>\n

    Each of the villa\u2019s eight bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom, making Martello House a wonderful alternative to a resort for a relaxed Caribbean holiday. There are four bedrooms with queen beds and two with two twin beds each. The two master suites have a king and queen bed, respectively; the king suite has its own furnished balcony, while the queen suite has ocean views.<\/p>\n

    Popular with sun-seeking celebrities, honeymooners in search of a picture-perfect setting and golf enthusiasts, the Platinum Coast area of Barbados is home to some of the island\u2019s most incredible beaches, top-ranked golf courses and highest-rated restaurants. Though Martello House is set back from the main road, it\u2019s only a 5-minute drive from most amenities, including the nearest golf course, spa and gym. Guests are also welcome at the beach at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion Hotel.<\/p>\n
