Like a holiday at a premier resort, your stay at Bluff House includes the services of a cook, butler, housekeeper and caretaker. A gated entrance means you can let go of your cares as soon as you pull up the sweeping driveway and hear the burble of the fountain at the home’s entrance. You’ll want to spend most of your time on a lounge chair on the terrace by the pool or on one of the lounge chairs provided on the beach. After a swim, rinse off in the outdoor shower before heating up the barbecue and enjoying local specialties at the al-fresco dining area.

Polished, cream-colored tile floors, elegant coral-stone walls and whitewashed beamed ceilings nod to traditional Caribbean architecture but have a contemporary, monochromatic twist. In the living and dining rooms, white upholstery on the sofas and dining chairs continues the fresh, minimalist look, while built-in coral-stone accents like consoles and moldings add texture. Throughout the house, an open layout and fold-away walls let in warm breezes and ocean views. And although your stay includes cook service, there is a fully equipped kitchen.

Each of the six bedrooms at Bluff House has an en-suite bathroom. With a king bed, jetted tub and private balcony, the master suite is a retreat worthy of a honeymoon or other romantic getaway. There are two other bedrooms with king beds and three bedrooms with two twin beds each.

Though many visitors come to Barbados just to be close to Sandy Lane Beach—down a short path—Bluff House isn’t far from other attractions on the island. Explore Holetown, Speightstown and Bridgetown, play a round at the Royal Westmoreland Golf Course or take a tour and taste a sample at the Mount Gay rum distillery. Hike through Welchman Hall Gully or dare to step inside Harrison’s Cave. If you’ve come for sun, sand and nothing but, it’s a short drive from the villa to Paynes Bay Beach, Colony Club Beach, and several other beautiful stretches. At the end of your stay, plan on a 15-mile drive to Grantley Adams International Airport.
