Calabash opens to a welcoming oceanfront terrace stocked with plenty of chaise longues, drinks tables and even an al-fresco dining table. Take a swim in the infinity pool or follow the steps to the beach just below. Two golf carts make it easy to access the shared Jumby Bay Resort pools, fitness and tennis facilities, croquet lawn and putting green. Borrow bicycles to go exploring or watersports equipment to see what’s under the sea. Meals and beverages at the resort are included in your stay, as are the services of a chef, butler and housekeeper.

A tiled roof and columned porticoes give the exteriors of Calabash a Mediterranean flair, but vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and plenty of natural textures lend the interiors Caribbean charm. Cream-colored sofas and rattan chairs in the living room create a casual, comfortable atmosphere, while wood paneling and a stained-glass window give the media room a cozier vibe. In the fully equipped kitchen, sherbet shades of mint, yellow and bubblegum pink look bright and cheerful.

Each of the villa’s three bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom, flat-screen TV with DVD player, iPod docking station and air conditioning. The master suite has a king bed and opens to its own terrace, and the other two bedrooms each have queen beds and access to a shared terrace. Neutral furnishings and tile floors in the bedrooms create a serene backdrop for lively accents like bold-print throw pillows and colorful artwork.

Calabash is just steps from Jumby Bay Beach and a 10-minute walk from Pasture Bay Beach and the Hawksbill Turtle Project. At the end of your stay, plan on a 5-minute walk to the Jumby Bay ferry dock, a 7-minute ferry ride back to Antigua proper, and a 5-minute drive from the Antigua ferry dock to V.C. Bird International Airport.

Additional rules

• All credit card holders must be aged 25 years and older at check-in.
• There are mandatory airport transfer fees.
• Guests arriving into V. C. Bird International Airport in Antigua can connect to Jumby Bay Island with the Jumby Bay resort ferry. A mandatory $85.00 per adult transfer fee includes a welcome at Antigua’s airport and escort by private car or van to the resort’s private ferry for journey to Jumby Bay. The transfer fee also includes return transfers to Antigua’s airport upon departure. Transfers are $40.00 + applicable taxes round-trip for children ages 2-12 years old and are complimentary for children under 2 years of age.
• Airport transfer fees for Guests arriving via private plane are available upon request. The current fee for Guests arriving via private plane is $150.00 + applicable taxes. This fee is a flat rate charged by the government, and is additional to the transfer fee charged by Jumby Bay.
