And it’s all against the spectacular backdrop of the brilliant blue waters of the Sea of Cortez.

The heart of the villa is a show-stopping two-level pool and hot tub, connected by a waterfall and staircase. Both levels are surrounded by sunny terraces with inviting rows of lounge chairs, and the upper patio has a shady palapa with a sitting area, too. Kids will love playing with the foosball table, while adults will appreciate being able to barbecue and dine outdoors at the al-fresco table. As the sun sets and the stars come out, gather around the telescope to see what you can spot, or head inside to enjoy the sound system and satellite TV.

Casa Alegria pairs the romantic charm of a Spanish Colonial hacienda with the relaxed grandeur of a Tuscan country villa. The result is gracious and inviting: an airy great room with beamed ceilings, fold-back glass walls that let in the ocean breeze, a roomy leather-backed sectional and a farmhouse-style dining table. The fully equipped kitchen is equally stylish yet comfortable, thanks to state-of-the-art appliances, dark wood cabinets and leather-topped stools at the breakfast bar.

The villa’s bedrooms continue the pairing, with cream-colored walls and wood trim that could have been transported from Italy and brightly colored otomi fabric bedding that speaks to traditional Mexican crafts. There are three bedrooms with king beds and two with two queen beds each; all have en-suite bathrooms and many have ocean views or open to the terrace.

Your holiday at Casa Alegria starts (or ends) with a one-way airport transfer from Los Cabos International Airport. From the villa’s Palmilla location, you’re close to some of the best beaches and golf courses in Cabo San Lucas—not to mention plenty of dining options and the area’s famously vibrant nightlife.
