Your stay at Seascape includes the services of a chef, butler and two housekeepers, which means you can spend your time on your own private oceanfront terrace, reading in a hammock, strolling the private beach or snorkeling on a coral reef just a few feet away that you’ll have to yourself. On the terrace, you’ll have your choice of sun or shade on the daybeds and loungers, as well as a pool or hot tub, all just steps from the beach. Children can play on the manicured lawn or at the playground area, which has a slide and three swinging chairs, while the grown-ups sip refreshments at the shaded sitting area. Invite everyone to sit down to dinner at the al-fresco dining area and linger to watch the sunset from the terrace.

Designed by the artist owner to have the elegance of a Greek temple and the sunshine of the Bahamas, Seascape is open to the warm breezes and soft lapping of the sea. Stately white columns, candy pink walls and open-sided living spaces with vaulted ceilings give the villa all the charm of a traditional Caribbean estate. Cool, pale travertine and limestone floors and slipcovered white sofas and chairs lend breezy appeal to the sitting and formal dining rooms, antique furniture grounds the look, and built-in bookcases and even a fireplace filled with shells add a whimsically organic touch. Though chef service is included, the villa does have a fully equipped kitchen with a generous island layout.

The villa’s sprawling one-story design means that five of the seven bedrooms have ocean views and access to the terrace; all have en-suite bathrooms. Sneak away to one of the five king suites to relive your honeymoon, or use the bedrooms with a queen bed and two twin beds, respectively, for family accommodations. Larger parties can use a room with two daybeds and an en-suite bathroom if needed. Along with the ocean views from nearly every room, skylights in every bathroom, you’ll feel like you’re outdoors even as you rinse off after a swim or indulge in a bath.

Though the tranquil setting of Seascape makes it possible to simply arrive and bliss out, there’s plenty in the area to explore, starting with the five nearby beaches within day-trip distance. Pop into downtown Nassau for a close-up look at the ships docked at Prince George Wharf or some shopping at the Harbour Bay Centre. Thrills await at both the Atlantis Casino and the Blue Shark Golf Course, or you can take the Paradise Island ferry for more low-key entertainment. At the end of your stay, plan to fly out of nearby Lynden Pindling International Airport.
