Known as “Little England,” the island of Barbados combines British charm and Caribbean flair and is a popular gateway for visitors looking for sun, tranquil waters and vibrant nightlife.

During the day, spread out on one of the Italian loungers on the terrace overlooking the water, with a cool drink in hand, it’s the perfect spot to relax. There’s a private plunge pool on the balcony, while the complex’s shared pool offers a chance for more swimming and socializing. This outdoor space also includes an alfresco dining area for meals in the fresh air.

Sitting at over 6,000 square feet, you and your guests will have plenty of space to unwind in this upscale condo. Central air conditioning and marble floors throughout help keep the place cool, while another option is to open the living room’s doors that lead out to the terrace. The living area features stylish and comfortable furniture by designer Lynne Pemberton, while the gourmet kitchen comes well stocked with appliances large and small. Daily housekeeping is included as an added perk.

The villa’s four bedrooms can easily sleep up to eight guests, and children are welcome here. Each suite includes an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and its own TV. Three bedrooms feature king beds, while the remaining suite’s two twin beds are perfect for children.

Smuggler’s Cove is only one minute away from Paynes Bay Beach. This popular shoreline is known for its beach bar and calm waters that are perfect for swimming or trying out a new water sport like jetskiing and catarmaran sailing. The world famous Sandy Lane Hotel is also nearby, and Holetown’s restaurants and shops are only 10 minutes away.

• Cancel up to 95 days before your trip and get a 50% refund of accommodation fees. Cancel within 95 days of the trip and the reservation is non-refundable.
