Whether you love the beach, golf or contemporary design, you’ll find something to adore at Villa Alegria del Arrecife. Part of a small private development overlooking the ocean, the five-bedroom villa was recently upgraded and has both a large outdoor living area and sleek modern interiors. It’s just a short drive from some of the area’s best beaches and golf and tennis clubs and close to the shopping, dining and nightlife in Cabo San Lucas, too.

Stretching out toward the Sea of Cortez, the villa’s heart is its extensive terrace. On one side, there’s a freeform pool and jetted tub; on the other, there’s a landscaped garden ending in a covered al-fresco dining area overlooking the water. There’s also a row of lounge chairs in the sun, a sound system to set the mood and a gas barbecue for local fare. Inside, Villa Alegria del Arrecife has its own fitness center, plus an entertainment center, bar and Wi-Fi for sharing photos of the day.

The villa’s interiors are sleek and stylish. Thanks to a glass wall that folds neatly away, the great room opens almost entirely to the terrace at one end. A set of overstuffed white leather sofas and chairs makes for a welcoming sitting area, and white stone-topped table and upholstered dining chairs continue the serene color scheme in the dining area. On both sides of the great room, orange and blue paneled artwork is a bright focal point. Not only is the kitchen fully equipped, it has beautiful weathered-wood cabinets and stone countertops.

Each of the five bedrooms at Villa Alegria del Arrecife has an en-suite bathroom; all but one have balcony access and ocean views. The master suite has a king bed and its own massage chair, and one other bedroom has a king bed as well. Two bedrooms have two queen beds each, and one bedroom—the only one without balcony access or an ocean view—has a queen bed. Like the rest of the house, the bedrooms have clean-lined furniture and a mostly white color scheme accented by bold bedding and artwork.

Your stay at Villa Alegria del Arrecife includes one airport transfer from Los Cabos International Airport, a 24-mile drive away. From the villa, it’s just 8 miles to Tabasco Beach and 8.5 miles to Médano Beach. If you’re looking for a more active vacation, head to Canchas de Tenis, 9 miles away, Tennis Club Pedregal, just under 10 miles away, or Cabo Real Golf Club, 10 miles away. Nearby towns and sights worth seeing include Cabo del Sol, 4 miles away, Cabo San Lucas, 9 miles away, Land’s End, 9.5 miles away, and San Jose del Cabo, 17 miles away.

• No pets are allowed unless specifically pre-authorized.
• No smoking permitted inside the property.
• No events such as weddings, bachelor or bachelorette parties will be permitted unless they are specifically pre-authorized. Event fees may apply if approved.
• Occupancy: The total number of persons allowed at any time is restricted to the contracted number of guests for each reservation. Renter must disclose the number of persons in his/her group as well as the name of every member of his/her group and the reason for stay.
• Excessive noise is not allowed at any time. Quiet time is 10pm-10am.
• 7 night minimum for 12/25 and 1/1, if taking both holidays a 14 night minimum is required.
• High School/College spring break groups not permitted.
• Maximum 10 guests (max 7 singles).
